On this page you will see how the curriculum intent has been carefully planned and sequenced by our subject experts.
The Curriculum Overview shows what is taught and when it is taught.
Each subject has Core Concepts, these are big ideas that run through the curriculum. Subject experts in departments have identified these through research and through their own knowledge of their discipline. Additionally, all subjects that teach Key Stage 3 have used the National Curriculum to ensure full coverage. These have been identified and carefully sequenced throughout the curriculum, making sure that there is logical sequencing.
The Assessment Map shows where these Core Concepts are taught and where they are assessed. Sometimes the Core Concept will be taught and not assessed and vice versa. However, each Core Concept will be taught and assessed through the relevant Key Stage (3, 4 or 5).
