Food & Healthy Eating
Food and drink are provided at the school for breakfast between 8.00 and 8.40am, break and lunchtimes. At breakfast a choice of hot or cold drinks, toast, eggs, beans, bacon, hash browns and home bake is available. At break toast, home made pizza, cheese toasties, a selection of stuffed potato skins, quesadillas, cereals, fruit, home bake, hot and cold drinks are provided.
Lunch time menus are changed daily offering a wide variety of main meals and desserts. In our “Take 5‟ restaurant we have a “meal deal‟ where students have a choice of main course plus vegetables and salad, a choice of dessert or fruit or yoghurt and a fruit juice or a baked potato with a choice of two toppings. Both of these meals are part of the “Healthy Eating‟ programme and are therefore subsidised by the school.
Healthy food may be brought from home and eaten in the designated dining areas. Please note that there are no facilities for storing food brought from home. The Government has now banned the sale of crisps in school and we request that you do not allow your child to bring them into school. We encourage the drinking of water.
A water machine is provided in ‟Take 5‟ restaurant and Stewart Hall at breakfast, break and lunchtimes. Fresh orange, apple, organic fruit juice drinks and milk shakes are sold. We are happy for students to bring bottles of water to school. The current price for the meal deal is £2.10.
